Tracy Maniapoto (Te Āti Haunui-a-Pāpārangi, Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Ngāti Kahungunu ki Te Wairoa, Ngāti Porou) is a PhD Candidate at Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa Massey University, Te Pūtahi-a-Toi School of Māori Knowledge, and a Lecturer at Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington.
In 2019 Tracy was awarded a doctoral scholarship through Te Apārangi Royal Society as part of a Marsden Fast-Start Grant project that explored Māori langauge revitalisation in the GLAM sector. Tracy’s research shares the stories of Māori second language learners as they journey to reclaim their native language, and investigates how libraries, archives, and museums, are supporting Māori language revitalisation efforts.
