Charlotte was raised in the Torres Strait and is of Meriam and Butchulla descent from Erub (Darnley Island) in the Torres Strait, and K-gari (Fraser Island) in south-east Queensland. She has spent more than 15 years working in universities in the areas of Indigenous engagement and employment, Equity and Diversity, and most recently in the Office of Scholarly Communication at UTS Library where she is currently the coordinator of ATSIDA. Charlotte is a member of the ATSIDA Reference Group, and UTS Indigenous Research Advisory Panel (IRAP) to the UTS HREC. She is committed to working with researchers, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities to ensure their rights and interests are protected when it comes to sharing their Indigenous Knowledge, and developing models of practice that centres Indigenous people in decision making about how research about them is managed, shared and used.
